SAUDI ARABIA: Minimalism is a thing that apparently Mercedes has not heard about at all. To put the phrase, „more is more,“ to the test, Mercedes has unveiled their Maybach S-Class to showcase the most Mercedes-Benz has to offer its luxury car buyers. To start with the small things, the new facelifted Maybach will offer near-unlimited colour and trim options to buyers. This allows for immaculate customisation, the likes of which are rarely available currently.
This model will come with three distinct engines and powertrain options. The first is the standard engine, which is Mercedes-Benz’s new 4.0-litre ‚M177 Evo‘ twin-turbo V8 flat-plane petrol engine. The engine will output a maximum of 395 kW. The engine will be supported by a 48-volt mild-hybrid system that powers an additional 17 kW. The mild hybrid improves the car's fuel efficiency, which is claimed to be 11 litres per 100 km.
If you want greater efficiency, you can choose the PHEV variant, which also features EQ Hybrid Technology. The PHEV is powered by a 3.0-litre inline-six-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that produces up to 330 kW alternative Long Battery. The engine is paired with an electric motor that outputs an additional 120 kW. The PHEV has a 21.96 kWh battery. The combined output of the PHEV is around 430 kW, with a claimed fuel efficiency of 3 litres per 100 km.
If you don’t want to go EV, you can explore the raw power option on the same car itself with a 6.0-litre twin-turbo V12 engine. It has a single power output of 463 kW, making it the most powerful of the three variants. Each variant has its engines paired with air suspension and rear-axle steering.
